It’s Mother’s Day! So Happy Mother’s Day to all you amazing, hardworking, inspiring mothers out there. This Mother’s Day, I wanted to do something a little different. I wanted to do a session that really showed what it is to be a mother. I thought picking the mother to highlight would be the hard part since I have the honor of knowing so many amazing mothers, but it wasn’t. After giving it some thought, I knew Emily was perfect.

Emily and I met awhile ago and from the first moment, I knew this woman was amazing. She’s a mommy to 5 gorgeous babies and a wife to a wonderful man. While she manages to raise 5 children and be a wife, she also manages the blog, The Freckled Fox.

If you follow her at all, you know that on top of her crazy life, she was recently thrown another obstacle. Her sweet husband Martin was diagnosed with cancer. They have been nothing but positive about the whole thing. I was able to shoot with them at the beginning of this year and seeing how much love they have for each other is absolutely inspiring.

When I went up to their gorgeous home in Idaho for this shoot, I got to see a new side of Emily. The side that is a full time mother who manages the chaos of 5 kids under the age of 6, the dedicated wife who takes care of her husband, and the pleasant soul she is that made sure we were accommodated and comfortable the whole time we were there.

Emily is an amazing woman and I can only hope that one day I can be half the mother she is. Happy Mother’s Day, Emily. I sure do love you!
